Hero Gear Upgrade Guide
When you first start playing Kingshot and see the hero gear, you may find yourself asking, “Which gear should I upgrade first?” We’ve covered this topic before in the link below, but I thought it would be beneficial to provide a more detailed and clear guide. Hero gear plays a crucial role in maximizing the damage your troops deal as quickly as possible.
Hero Gear Upgrade Guide
In many guides, we’ve talked about focusing on your top three most-used and powerful heroes, whether it’s for leveling up or upgrading gear. But before diving into this, let me mention that there are two types of players:
Rally Joiners: If you’re a free-to-play player in a good alliance, you’re probably a rally joiner.
Rally Leaders: If you have the best stats in your alliance, you’re likely a rally leader.
This guide will be more relevant for Rally Leaders, as min-maxing stats isn’t as crucial for Rally Joiners. However, if you want to maximize your potential, here’s what you should do:
Step-by-Step Hero Gear Upgrade Strategy for Rally Leaders
Choose your top 3 heroes.
Pick the three heroes that you use the most and have the highest power.Reforge all your previous gear upgrades.
Reset all of your gear upgrades for free by using the reforge feature.Equip gear on your heroes.
After reforging, equip the gear on your heroes again.Upgrade specific gear pieces based on the hero’s troop type. Use the experience gained from reforging to upgrade only the relevant gear pieces for each hero’s troop type:
Infantry: Upgrade only the gear pieces that provide infantry health bonuses (e.g., Pauldron and Gauntlet).
Archer: Upgrade only the gear pieces that provide archer lethality bonuses (e.g., Helmet and Boots).
Cavalry: Upgrade only the gear pieces that provide cavalry lethality bonuses (e.g., Helmet and Boots).
Some of you might think that not upgrading the other gear pieces is illogical. However, I’ve fought many battles, often against opponents with similar power, and I’ve won thanks to this strategy.
Why This Strategy Works
In both defense and offense, infantry tend to die first. I won’t go into the details of damage calculation in Kingshot, but when you review battle reports from other players, you’ll see that infantry units are often the ones that get wounded or killed. That’s why infantry need a health boost to survive battles with minimal losses. Yes, we’d love to upgrade the lethality bonus gear as well, but resources are limited.
If you look at the battle reports mentioned earlier, you’ll notice that archers sometimes get wounded or killed, but rarely do cavalry units take any damage. This shows us that health stats are not as important for archers and cavalry.
The Takeaway
Infantry are your meat shields.
Archers and Cavalry are your glass cannons.
This strategy will help you win battles with minimal losses, ensuring your infantry can take the hits while your archers and cavalry deal the damage.
